With over 13 years of experience as a teacher of music theatre and acting, I have taught children and adults from diverse backgrounds with varying levels of experience.  I have restructured the entire curriculum for my high school courses and have created new courses to expand students' knowledge of theatre and to install a lasting relationship with the creative arts.  I hold a Masters Degree in Adult Education and Training and have currently earned 18 credits towards a Master of Fine Arts in Theatre Direction, and my undergraduate degree is in Theatre with an emphasis in Theatre Directing.

I am a dedicated and successful teacher constantly striving to improve my students and myself.  I have created programs for students of all ages to become engaged in theatre to help them find purpose and meaning.  I understand the in-class and out-of-class time and dedication required being a successful teacher, director, and performer, and I am fully committed to this endeavor.  I have been in love with and actively involved with theatre since I was 13 years old when I saw my first live production an immediately joined the after school drama club!  I hope to have the opportunity to share this love, knowledge and passion with all of my students!

Philosophy of Education

I can accomplish anything with students if I set high expectations for behavior and performance by which I myself abide.  Who I am and what I do and say will greatly influence those who will be the productive citizens of tomorrow's world.  My expectations of my students will greatly influence their achievement in not only my classes, but ultimately their lives.  A teacher's personal philosophy of education is a critical element in his approach to guiding students along the path of enlightenment.  I prefer an eclectic discernment in my quest of an educational philosophy.  My idea of the perfect teacher is one who inspires learning in addition to just relating required facts, one with creativity, enthusiasm, and motivation.  Certainly this is a tall order for anyone in a profession on a daily basis.  However, the effort is well worth it!
